Via App to Be Discontinued Soon
The End of the Via App – Important Information for Campervan and Coach Drivers
At the end of 2024, the Via app from the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security (FOCBS) will be discontinued. Starting on 1 January 2025, the lump-sum heavy vehicle charge (PSVA) in Switzerland can only be processed via the Via portal as a web application.
💡 This is particularly relevant for drivers of campervans and coaches from abroad. They are still required to pay the PSVA, a fee calculated based on kilometres driven, total weight, and emissions.
What Will Change for You?
- No more access to the Via app: The convenient mobile solution will no longer be available.
- Web-only solution: From 2025, the Via portal will be the only digital option for processing.
- Adjusted validity periods: The popular option of 10 single days with flexible usage will no longer be available from 2025.
How to Prepare
- Stay informed before your trip: Check which fees apply to your vehicle.
- Plan ahead: Use the Via portal to pay your charges in advance.
Validity Periods
You can choose from the following options:
- 1 to 30 days
- 1 to 11 months
